"A run of bets" was put for one entrant, many at shops in the Ipswich location, the bookmaker said.
It is not understood which baker triggered the flurry or whether any contestants have connections with the Suffolk town.
The very first episode of the popular amateur baking contest aired on BBC One Wednesday evening.

It is the sixth series of the show, which challenges 12 hopefuls to impress judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
Weekly the amateur bakers are anticipated to take on a baking obstacle, with very little guidelines, and present a "signature dish".
'Soggy bottom'
The bookie said a flurry of bets came in for one of the 12 entrants whose odds began at 12/1 and were reduced to 6/1, 3/1 and after that evens.
"We provided prices on Monday and, almost before the ink was dry, an unusual variety of punters remained in a rush to back only one participant," David Williams of Ladbrokes said.
"On Tuesday and Wednesday it was more of the exact same one-way traffic. That sufficed to set our alarm bells ringing and, as a precaution, we suspended our betting.
"Hopefully, we'll return up with revised chances sooner instead of later, but we didn't wish to get captured with our trousers pulled down and a soaked bottom, so we've decided to kick back until we are reassured that Bake Off hasn't gone off already.
"When you see a run of bets like this promotion code for one contestant at the expense of everybody else that can be an indication to suspend wagering for a bit to evaluate the circumstance," he added.
Several of the bets placed were the optimum the bookie would take for wagers made on the program's result, and 90% were put on one contestant.
The suspension would not affect bets currently positioned, the company stated.
The first participant to be knocked out of the competition on Wednesday evening was Stuart Henshall from Surrey.
The 11 staying contestants are from Berkshire, Lancashire, Cambridgeshire, London, West Yorkshire, Manchester, Essex, Swansea and two from Perthshire.
